A 13mm spray coat system is a multi-layer, all-weather, and often permeable athletic track surface typically used for school and institutional training facilities. It consists of a SBR rubber base mat with a spray-applied EPDM and polyurethane top coating, which offers good anti-slip and UV resistance properties.

Composition and Structure
The system is a two-layer application (or three layers including a seal coat) installed over a suitable base (asphalt or concrete).
Base Layer
Typical Thickness: 10 mm
Material: Black SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) granules bound in polyurethane (PU) binder
Purpose: Provides the main resilient cushion and shock absorption.
Surface Layer
Material: Colored EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) granules mixed with a PU spray-coat material
Typical Thickness: 2-3 mm (total system thickness typically 13mm)
Purpose: Offers UV resistance, color, and a structural, spike-resistant topcoat.
