The entire construction process of EPDM granules includes steps such as base treatment, area positioning, applying primer, laying the base coat, laying the top coat, marking lines, and protecting the finished product. First, the base must be inspected, cleaned, and leveled, then the design lines are laid out. Next, a layer of primer is applied to increase adhesion, and the base coat (usually black or white granules) is laid and smoothed. After the base coat has cured, the colored EPDM top coat is laid and repeatedly compacted. Finally, the boundary lines are marked according to the design plan, and final cleaning and protection work is performed.
Foundation Treatment and Preparation: Foundation Inspection and Rectification: Check the flatness and slope of the site, and repair any protruding or sunken areas. Use a level to check if the elevation meets requirements. Site Cleaning: Thoroughly sweep the ground to remove dust, oil, and other debris. Moisture Testing: Cover the ground with a transparent film for a period of time to check for condensation, determining if the humidity is suitable for construction. Equipment Inspection: Check that all construction equipment and tools are complete and in good working order. Weather Forecast: Pay attention to weather forecasts and choose suitable weather conditions for construction, avoiding rain, snow, strong winds, etc., which may affect construction.
Laying out and paving: Area positioning: Measure the site according to the design drawings and mark the construction area and boundaries with chalk or marker. 2. Applying primer: Apply a layer of primer evenly to the base layer to enhance the adhesion between the EPDM material and the base. Recommended dosage: 0.1-0.2 kg of adhesive per square meter. 3. Base coat (priming) construction: Material preparation: Use black or white granules and mix them thoroughly with the special adhesive according to the specified ratio. 4. Spreading and leveling: Pour the mixed material into the area to be paved and level it with a screed. 5. Compacting: Compact the base coat with a roller or compactor to ensure uniform density and thickness.Surface Coating Application: Material Preparation: Mix the colored EPDM granules and special adhesive in the specified ratio until homogeneous. It is recommended to mix 3 bags of material at a time to reduce color difference. Spreading and Leveling: Pour the mixed material into the area to be covered and level it with a screed. Compacting: Roll the material repeatedly with a roller to ensure density and flatness. For uneven areas, use a trowel to repair them.
Line Marking and Completion: Line Marking: After both the base layer and surface layer have cured, mark the lines according to the design drawings. Positioning: Measure and mark the boundary line positions. Masking: Apply masking tape (or adhesive tape) along both sides of the boundary line. Painting: Apply special line marking paint between the masking tape. Removing Masking Tape: After the line marking paint surface is dry, carefully peel off the masking tape. Finished Product Protection: After construction is completed, protect the site to prevent other construction work or personnel from stepping on it.
